B2 - Pulsum - Distilled Existence

It's this experience of being at an age when you're really uncertain of everything and overwhelmed by how much grief and how much horror is happening in this world, overwhelmed by your trauma and your baggage and in many ways you are stunted by this fear or paralysed by it even though you are aware of how much better you have it than the vast majority of others out there. It isolates the idea that we all exist within a framework of fragility and uncertainty. 'Distilled Existence' imagines an alternative reality that exists in stark contrast, where everything is gentle and nothing hurts. This track is by Pulsum. Spoken word poem written and delivered by Ariana.

You wake up and it's the year 2027
The curtains are limp
And in the crevice where the panels meet
A wisp of light putters in
Lays itself on the impeccable symmetry of your face
One pupil shrinks while the other dilates

The light it is your morning companion

you've awoken from a non-auditory
alarm
An internal device that gently awakens your mind
And flows with the natural cycle of your body's sleep pattern

There is no jolt

The alarm is soft and warming
Like awakening to your partner pleasuring you
A non-invasive invitation to re-experience the existence of your body

You blink twice to activate the voice that offers you a single serving of positivity
There is no social media or news
There is no necessity for interaction of any kind
Only a diffusion of the reality that you choose to invest and rest within
An extension of the hidden vision in your pleasure receptors
The silent hush of solace and insignificance

You inhale to invigorate your muscles and mind
Exhale with fluidity the final seconds of a melancholic Lynchian dream
The air is womb-like and suspended in eternal haze
There is nothing and everything on the tip of your tongue
There is no world
The linear understanding of time has expired
This moment you are experiencing is a cradled universe
